Patriot launches Wildfire ssd variants

Memory and opslagfabrikant Patriot has on the Cebit its line-up of solid state drives supplemented with variants on the Wildfire ssd. The company showed the Wildfire SE and Pro versions, which are more modern versions of the earlier ge lwa ntroduceerde Wildfire.

The middle of last year by the introduction of Wildfire-series solid state drives from Patriot make use of the SF2281 controller from SandForce that 32nm synchronous nandgeheugen controls. The same controller is in the Wildfire SE and the Wildfire Pro, but Patriot combined the controller with 25nm flash memory. The differences between the Pro and SE are found in the amount of memory that Patriot for overprovisioning book: the Pro series has more of this spare memory, and then also receive five instead of three year warranty.

The SE series is in variants with 120GB, 240GB and 480GB of storage capacity available; the Pro-series has 100GB or 200GB on board. The SF2281 controller is also for the Pyro ssds are used that are in the regular and SE variants appear. The former has asynchronous flash memory on board, while the SE-series of synchronous memory use. Both series Pyro ssds in capacities of 60GB, 120GB and 240GB available.

Finally, the company is also the Magma series. This mainstream solid state drives will become cheaper, but they still have a sata-600 interface. The asynchronous 25nm flash memory by a Phison controller and controlled and the drives would be in the course of the second quarter appear on the market. Prices for the new ssds made Patriot is not yet known.
