Hands-on: Fujitsu’s first Android tablet with Tegra 3 and ICS

Although Fujitsu for years, Windows-based tablets for the business market, it has not previously a high-end Android tablet released. At Cebit, the company, however, the Stylistic M532, a thin 10,1″-Android 4.0 tablet with a Tegra 3.

Although this is only the first attempt of Fujitsu is to create a high-end consumer, made the M532 from the beginning a good impression. The housing is thin and with only 560 grams, very light, but feels solid. The 10.1″screen has a resolution of 1280×800 pixels and is covered with toughened Gorilla Glass, which is extra resistant to scratches. This type of glass we saw earlier in some Samsung smartphones and the iPhone. What type of screen Fujitsu used is not clear, but given the good viewing angles, it is probably an ips panel.

The tablet is powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 3 quadcore that also the Transformer Prime from Asus and he is running on an unmodified version of Android 4.0. Hopefully Fujitsu the tablet, therefore, in the future, fast updating to new versions of the operating system. Although we are just as yourself with the interface could play – officially only allowed employees of Fujitsu the tablet to control – it was clear that the device is in use, very smooth.

The M532 has 32GB of storage capacity, which by means of a micro-sd card can double. That card is hidden behind a small cover, behind which is also a simkaartgleuf. Furthermore, the tablet is a special dock connector for accessories from Fujitsu and a standard micro-usb connector, which he paired to a computer, can be. At the rear is at the top of a 8-megapixel camera with flash.

Fujitsu wants the tablet in June on the market and is crazy enough with only one model. That will be so 32GB of storage and 3g support, simpler models are not in the planning. The M532 should be 549 euro. That’s a lot, but considering the specs it seems to us no exaggeration. Or Fujitsu with the Stylistic M532, the more established names in the life acid, you need about a few months turn out, if we have a reviewexemplaar to get your hands on.
