“HP builds Windows 8 tablets with ARM and Intel chips’

HP is working on three tablets based on Windows 8 go to run. Two models will use Intel Atom processors, while a tabletvariant is equipped with an ARM chip from Qualcomm. Definitely two models to be released this year.

That reports Cnet on the basis of anonymous sources. One of the models, that feature would be a 32nm dual-core Atom processor from the Clover Trail series, it would be the middle between a laptop and tablet, and is aimed at the consumer market. A second Atom tablet is designed for the business market and would have no characteristics of a hybrid. The two x86-based tablets from HP would be in the fourth quarter of this year on the market.

In addition to the Intel models, HP is also working on a Windows 8 tablet based on an ARM processor from Qualcomm. Presumably the Snapdragon soc. Or the ARM model this year and the market will come is still unclear: it depends on the planned release of Windows 8 for the ARM platform.

The intention of HP to the end of this year, tablets based on Windows 8 on the market, does not come as a surprise: ceo Meg Whitman had in October already know that the Personal Systems division is involved with the setting up of a new tabletlijn. Details about HP’s tabletplannen gave Whitman, however, is not.
