AMD has their new series HD 7700 graphics cards announced and different manufacturers have simultaneously made their own versions. There are cards with custom pcb’s, new coolers and variants that are overclocked.
The HD 7700 is based on AMD’s new Cape Verde gpu which uses the Graphics Core Next architecture. This is at TSMC on the 28nm process, baked and would be out approximately one and a half billion transistors exist. The HD 7700-series is intended for the midrangesegment and will take out two cards: The HD 7770 and HD 7750. The performance of the first would be between that of the HD 6790 and HD 6850 should fall, while the HD 7750 is slightly faster than the HD 6770. The HD 7750 at the back, a dvi-, hdmi -, and displayport output. A bigger brother and join the displayport output to two mini-displayport variants.
Asus comes with a DirectCU TOP edition of both cards, which is standard overclocked and has a custom cooler that is better and quieter than that of AMD. The HD 7770-model has a clock speed of 1120MHz instead of the default 1000MHz, and 820MHz is the HD 7750 20MHz higher clocked than is the case by default. Both cards are equipped with 1GB gddr5 memory at 4500MHz.
Also, MSI equips its HD7700 cards with a custom cooler, which in this case is about two fans. The company sells the HD 7750 and HD 7770 cards with a slight overclock, respectively, of 5MHz and 20MHz. The speed of the video memory is unchanged. The cards are compatible with MSI’s Afterburner software that allows the clock speed further increased.
XFX introduces a total of nine new cards with AMD’s latest gpu. Both the HD 7770 and HD 7750 are four types: a standard edition, an overclocked black edition, a standard version with a dualfan cooler, and a ‘black edition’ with the same cooler. Last but not least, there is also a ‘Super Overclocked’edition of the HD 7770 which is the clock speed of the standard overklokversie increases of 1095MHz to 1120MHz.
Manufacturer Sapphire comes with three models; standard versions of the HD 7700 and HD 7750 and an overclocked version of the HD 7770. This last has with 1150MHz the highest clock speed of the launched today cards. The memory speed is jacked up from 4500MHz to 5000MHz. All models are equipped with Sapphire’s own koelerontwerp with a single fan.
Gigabyte brings out three new cards. The gpu of the HD 7750-model by default is overclocked to 880MHz and features a custom singlefan-cooler. The HD 7770 come with both a stock – if overclockversie. The French version (has a gpu at 1100MHz is doing his job, the speed of the video memory is inadequate. Both cards use the same cooler with a single fan as the HD 7750.
