Samsung shows Galaxy Tab 2 tablet

Samsung has a new tablet with 7″screen announced. The Tab 2 will release running Android 4.0 ICS. The tablet measures 10.5 mm and will be Samsung’s cheapest tablet. Samsung took the info after the publication temporarily offline.

The Tab 2 has just like other Galaxy Tabs TouchWiz skin from Samsung on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The processor is a 1GHz dual-core of unknown origin. Previously used Samsung already own Exynos processors in tablets, but also Nvidia’s Tegra 2. In the Tab 2 it’s most likely a Tegra 2.

The tablet is the direct successor of the first Galaxy Tab from late 2010, although they already had a successor in the form of the Tab 7 Plus. To the front is a camera with a resolution of 640×480 pixels, while the back is a 3 megapixel camera. The tablet has support for 3g, wi-fi and bluetooth 3.0.

It is unclear when and for what price the tablet in the store. Samsung will the Tab 2 likely to show during telecombeurs Mobile World Congress at the end of this month. The manufacturer pulled out shortly after publication the information about the Tab 2 offline, but the page is now back online. It is unclear why that happened.
