RIM brings the BlackBerry Bold 9790 in the Netherlands

RIM has the BlackBerry Bold 9790 smartphone in the Netherlands. The device is the successor of the BlackBerry Bold 9780 and has as its main new feature is a touchscreen. Also, a physical keyboard is present.

The successor to the 9780 has the same 2,45″screen with a resolution of 480×360 pixels, but this time the screen is touch-sensitive. Under the screen is as usual at BlackBerry’s physical qwerty-keyboard placed. Between the screen and the keyboard is an optical trackpad on both sides by two buttons. RIM has compared to the 9780, the thickness is reduced from 14mm to 11mm. The unit weighs 107gram.

The Bold 9790 runs on the BlackBerry 7 OS, which according to the manufacturer, an improved browser and in addition with the nfc chip in the phone can handle. The device is powered by a 1GHz Tavor processor from Marvell, in combination with 768MB of ram. The processor of the 9780 had a maximum clock speed of 624MHz and had it with 512MB of memory. For storage, there is 8GB available and via micro-sd cards can this capacity be expanded. RIM let us know that the smartphone on all major carriers is available.
