ING has the limit that company had placed on the number of customers at the same time, via desktop or mobile banking, will be lifted. The problems should belong to the past. That says the bank against Tweakers.net.

The bank has, since last Sunday, several times had problems with his internetbankiersysteem. Tuesday, it became clear that the failure was caused by changes in the database were implemented. In addition, consumers also have online stores suffer from the fault, said Thuiswinkel.org against the NOS. According To Home Shopping.org-director Wijnand Jongen, the e-tailers millions euros turnover lost.

According to Michael Koutstaal, director of ING, the bank for internet banking, use of new systems. “The entire infrastructure of the internet banking is fully replaced in mid-2011,” says Koutstaal, which states that the cause of the problems is there has not been.

ING still has no technical details released about how the faults can occur, but it seems that the problems are caused by the way in which the internetbankiersysteem is linked with the other systems of the bank. “The internetbankiersysteem of ING is a collection of a large number of systems. One of the servers did not respond in the right way on a different server.”

Koutstaal could not say exactly how old the other systems of the bank, but confirmed that also in the last few years is invested. “This means that some parts or software recently has been replaced or modified, and other components-five years old.”

A spokesman of the bank further states that, despite the problems Wednesday, 1.5 million people have made use of the internet banking services of ING. That is more than the 1.2 million that, according to the bank on a normal day log.
