Microsoft has acknowledged that the latest update for the Xbox 360 for color differences in videos. The software giant is working on a solution, but it is still not clear when an update can be released.
At the mouth of Xbox community manager Larry Hryb, Microsoft has recognised that the Metro update for Xbox 360 the colors of videos played is deteriorating. There is working on a solution, but when an update appears it is not yet known. An analysis by Digital Foundry showed that video’s after the update with limited range rgb colors are sent out. The faded colours were in the beta test period of the new Dashboard already in use by gamers raised, but Microsoft released the update without the problem to fix it.
A follow-up investigation by Digital Foundry revealed that the video resolution since the update has been decreased to 720p. Also video apps that with the new Dashboard were introduced, have this problem. Movies with Microsoft’s Zune service are bought or rented, can be set to 1080p to be played. Digital Foundry suspect that the limited resolution is built-in to the Microsoft-provided sdk for the development of video apps. On these findings, it is still not Microsoft, and Microsoft responded; Hryb has only the ‘colorspace issues’.
