Nokia used screen, Samsung Galaxy S II in new device

Nokia can now have screens that Samsung itself described as ‘Super Amoled Plus’. The display of the Us device Lumia 900 is the first to be more subpixels than previous screens, which the Finnish manufacturer is used.

The screen of the Lumia 900 is probably as good as identical to that of the Galaxy S II, a smartphone that Samsung in the spring of last year released. Both are made by Samsung, have a diagonal of 4.3″ and a resolution of 800×480 pixels, which the subpixels are arranged according to an rgb layout.

So far used Nokia screens from Samsung with a PenTile layout, where different pixels have the same subpixel sharing. Therefore, the resolution is effectively lower than for the displays with rgb-layout. The user can often see this because the pictures and text is not smooth eyes.

That the Lumia 900 is not PenTile screen, is confirmed by the manufacturer, and is also visible in close-up photos of The Verge. It is the first time that Samsung is a competitor amoled screens sold with rgb-layout. Other Samsung amoled screens, such as that of the Motorola Razr and HTC Desire, had each a PenTile layout.

The Lumia 900 is a phone that Nokia has announced for a release in the United States. It has the same design as the Lumia 800, but differs, except for the larger screen with more subpixels, yet on several points. So, running the device on Windows Phone Mango Commercial Release 2, a version that support for 4g technology lte add. In addition, the 900 is a front-facing camera.
