From bios updates for ECS and Jetway motherboards is that AMD’s new processors under the Phenom II X8-line on the market. The Zambezi based cpus have relatively low clock speed.
There are clues to find before the advent of the processors in the list of supported cpu’s from the Jetway HA18 motherboard, while the name Phenom II X8 pops up in a cpu list of ECS A890GXM-A2 motherboard. Jetway refers to the chips, under the heading of ‘engineering samples’, so that the possibility exists that the to test versions of processors goes ultimately to the high-end FX line are going to fall.
However, it is also possible, in the opinion XBitLabs, AMD the Zambezi-based Phenom II’s with Bulldozer cores as a cheaper alternative to the FX models, would like to offer. The company then has the option of Zambezi processors that use all eight cores turned on, but no high clock speed can handle, yet to use. The FX name is preserved to processors with higher clockspeeds. The Phenom II X8’s would not have Turbo Core and less cache on board.

The product codes are simple to decode, through the earlier this year leaked decodeertabellen. Take the so-called AMD Phenom II X8 2420, with product key “ZD242046W8K43′. Z stands for Engineering sample, D for Desktop, 2420 2.4 GHz, 46 for socket AM3+ W for the pinnetjesstructuur of the cpu, 8 for eight cores, K for the cache size (2MB L2 and 8MB L3), and 43 for the A1 revision. And that engineeringsamples come from april 2011.
