Intel gets certificate to usb 3.0 Series 7 chipset to places

Intel has of the USB Implementers Forum, the standardisation body behind usb technology, the green light given to the usb 3.0 standard to advertise in the new Series 7 chipset for Ivy Bridge processors, which in april are expected.

With the certification from the USB-IF may Intel the usb 3.0 protocol in its next chipsets implemented, formally a promotion. The certification of the chipset for consumentenplatforms for Ivy Bridge processors and the platform, respectively, the Intel 7 Series chipset and C216 chipset. With usb 3.0, or SuperSpeed usb data transfer rates roughly tenfold compared to what with usb 2.0 standard as possible.

So far were extra controllerchips of third parties necessary to motherboards with Intel chipsets of usb 3.0 connectivity. AMD implemented usb 3.0 standard for the first time in his Hudson chipsets for apu motherboards for Llano processors. Intel’s Ivy Bridge-based processors and their 7 Series chipset will be around april 2012.
