Intel gets the Core i7 for lga 1366 socket out of production

Intel has the end of a number of Clarkdale-, Lynnfield-, Bloomfield and Gulftown processors announced. The Pentiums and Core i’s get the end-of-life status on June 29, 2012. Than the Ivy Bridge processors have arrived.

Intel has this week a number of product discontinuance notices to its partners, passed on. Among the processors that are going to disappear are all Core i7 processors for the lga 1366 socket. Intel introduced the first Core i7 for this socket at the end of 2008 and the Gulftown-hexacore Core i7 990X is going out of production.

Also a large number of processors for the lga 1156 is going to vanish. This platform for the Lynnfield – and Clarkdale-based processors, is now succeeded by lga 1155 for Sandy Bridge and, later, Ivy Bridge. According to Intel, the in the documents mentioned chips are disappearing because the demand is shifted to other processors.

The Pentium processors which are out of production are going to be the G6950, G6960, G620, G620T, and G840. The Core i3-540 and i3-2100T are also on the list, like the Core i5-650, i5-660, i5-670, i5-680 and i5-2300. The Core i7 and then Intel the end-of-life-stamp on the i7-860, i7-870, i7-930, i7-950, i7-960, i7-980 and i7-990X. Incidentally, the stop of the production on the 29th of June next year not right that the processors are completely disappear; Intel continues until 7 december to manufacturers, as long as the stock lasts.
