Packard Bell calls fire notebookaccu’s back – update

Packard Bell has been found that the batteries of the EasyNote MX36-, MX37-, MX51 and MX52 notebooks after long use problems can show it to overheat or even fire can result. The batteries were in 2007.

The batteries were from July 2007 to may 2008 produced and Packard Bell delivered. The manufacturer used them for the MX37-, MX51 and MX52 notebooks, and now offers them for free to replace. It is not known whether the risk of overheating, also to incidents has led.

Packard Bell recommends owners of the affected units, the serial number of the battery to check and to enter on a special site to see whether it is the risky copies. It is not known from which manufacturer the battery came and or other manufacturers, these have used. Notebookfabrikanten are regularly forced to flammable batteries to recall.

Update Friday 14.45: Packard Bell has already in 2009, a recall for the relevant notebookaccus held. Then let the manufacturer know that the batteries, which between July and december 2007 produced. Packard Bell calls so now the batteries after that period, until may 2008 made his return.
