With the Talos 2 series introduces OCZ a smaller version of the Talos-series, which if the 3.5″drives was provided. The Talos 2 series of solid state drives in the 2.5″form factor into it, but it has a maximum capacity of 1TB.
OCZ delivers the Talos 2 ssds for corporate or enterprise use, and can the solid state drives according to customer requirements adjust. So can the 2.5″drives are delivered with a standard mlc memory or something better emlc memory. It is also possible to slc flash in the drives to handle. Which controller is in the Talos 2 ssds used is not clear: OCZ does not indicate whether it is a SandForce or Indilinx controller.
The ssd’s come with a dual sas interface, with a bandwidth of 6Gbps. The maximum read speed of the drives would be 550MB/s, while write up to 375MB/s can take place. The number of iops at 4kB random read-actions amounts to 70,000 iops for write is of 35,000 iops. The drives are currently being sampled to customers and will in capacities from 100GB to 1TB are available. Prices made OCZ is not yet known.
