Government is looking for Director of Cyber Security

The government is looking within the National Co lwa coordinator for Counterterrorism and Security director for the National Cybersecurity Center must control. The director is responsible for the security of the it systems of the government.

A new director for Cyber Security is part of a reorganization of the National Coordinator for Counterterrorism and Security, in which a number of components to be merged, but also the newly formed National Cybersecurity Center is set up. The director reports to the NCTV, and is responsible for monitoring the safety of overheidsictsystemen, which have a reporting requirement must be implemented. It comes to guidelines laid down in the National Cyber Security Strategy.

The new director plays a role in the control of the National Cybersecurity Center, which by the government is used to obtain advice on ict matters. Also informs the organization of threats and incidents to the government. In the council of the organisation includes senior executives from companies, such as KPN ceo Eelco Blok. The council was last summer installed, using the National Cybersecurity Center from January 1, 2012 should be active. In the Second Room was already previously submitted a proposal for an ict ‘fire brigade’, 24 hours a day ready to incidents to resolve.

With a new structure the government hopes the threats and incidents in the field of ict and mapping of the risks as small as possible. This should involve the citizen more confidence in the ict systems of the government. That trust is not there, partly due to a series of leaks and incidents, each of which showed that the government’s cross has let fall on the field of ict. Previously argued the Second Room is all about safety with the government as a result of the hack in ssl-authority DigiNotar.
