HTC breaks again sales record of smartphones

Smartphonemaker HTC has in the presentation of its quarterly figures let you know 13.2 million smartphones to be sold. That’s more than the 12.1 million copies of the previous quarter, what was then a record meant.

The number of sales in the third quarter means almost a doubling compared to the same quarter last year. The 13.2 million smartphones delivered HTC a gain of only 482 million euros, which the manufacturer in addition to record sales, a record in the books. HTC did not reveal which devices the best were sold.

HTC gives advantage of the growing global demand for smartphones. For the fourth quarter expected, the Taiwanese manufacturer is about 12 to 13 million devices to sell. That would be less than in the third quarter, but means an increase of 42 percent compared with the fourth quarter of 2010.

HTC makes smartphones running Google’s Android operating system. Recently, the manufacturer also two Windows Phone Mango devices: the Radar and the Titan. Also the Android flagship Sensation got a successor: the XL-version with 4.7″screen.
