Lenzenfabrikant Carl Zeiss, the Distagon T* 2/25 lens announced for the Canon EF – and Nikon F-mount. The manual focus-lens is made of metal and is from the end of 2011 is available for a suggested retail price of nearly 1450 euro including vat.
The Distagon T* 2/25 ZE and ZF.2 lenses for Canon and Nikon dslr’s, have eleven lens elements in ten lens groups. The lens is therefore of a more complex design than the 24mm f/2 lens that Sony together with Carl Zeiss for its Alpha-mount has developed. Furthermore, two aspherical lensoppervlakken used to the image distortion and chromatic aberration of the lens as low as possible.
The Nikon variant of the lens has a filter size of 67mm, is approximately 95mm wide and has a diameter of 71mm. The weight is 570g. The Canon version, the first 25mm lens for the Canon EF mount by Carl Zeiss is marginally larger and heavier. The shortest focusing distance is 25cm and the maximum magnification for close-up work is 1:5,9.
For the Nikon-bayonet, there was already a Distagon T*lens with a maximum aperture of f/2.8. The new 25mm f/2 lens is upward positioned. The new lens is at the end of 2011 is available for a suggested retail price of 1448 euro including vat.
