A vast majority of the Dutch internet users has a virus scanner ge lwa installed, according to figures from the EU. This makes the Netherlands a leader in the European Union. Or did the Dutch suffer more from spam than average.
On average, 84 percent of internet users in the European Union’s security software, says the CBS. Dutch internet users are at the forefront: of them, 96 percent have such software installed. In Belgium, it’s 89 percent. It is, however, relatively old figures, from 2010.
The smallest number of internet users with a virus scanner can be found in Latvia: 62 percent. Eight in ten internet users in the Netherlands to install regular updates of their security software; one in twenty does this never.
The Dutch and Belgians have more problems with spam than average. Where of all European internet users, 56 percent agree with spam, is that in the Netherlands and Belgium, both of 68 percent. The number of viruses in the netherlands falls again; 23 percent of the Dutch users had last year suffered from a virus, compared to 31 percent of the European internet users. In Belgium, that percentage is 32 percent.
