This concerns police officer Firas Hanna, pilot Chadi Hanna and lawyer Malek Hanna who, despite having their own careers, claimed to be working to take care of their father, who needed assistance after a brain hemorrhage, 24/7.
Now the siblings have been sentenced to between 1.5 and 2 years and nine months in prison for having embezzled 6 million kronor in incorrect benefits.
They must also pay damages of almost 9 million kronor including interest.
The verdict shows that Firas Hanna can expect to be dismissed from the police and that Malek Hanna will be expelled from the Swedish Bar Association as a result of the benefit fraud. It is unclear whether pilot Chadi Hanna can continue working.
