The man is suspected of having embezzled 800 million kronor and several expensive mining machines via companies in Malmfälten.

He has managed to evade Swedish authorities for over a year and was arrested a week ago at Larnaca airport in Cyprus. Shortly afterwards, however, he somehow managed to escape – wearing handcuffs.

According to Cypriot police, Uvén escaped from a health clinic on Sunday after complaining of chest pains. A police officer has been removed from duty after the escape.

Cyprus has now announced again that the Swede has been found and is in custody.
