According to Göteborgs-Posten, the police are closing the investigation, citing that Kristofer Lundberg's actions may have been self-defense.

The incident occurred on August 25 during a demonstration in support of Gaza, where journalist Joakim Lamotte claims that he was beaten and robbed of his equipment by Lundberg and other participants. Lamotte is said to have tried to interview Lundberg when the situation deteriorated. However, Lundberg and the organizers believe that Lamotte became violent and was arrested by them according to the principle of non-violent protest.

Kristofer Lundberg was recently expelled from the Left Party after expressing support for the terrorist-classified Palestinian organization PFLP. He has consistently denied any wrongdoing.

The investigation in which Joakim Lamotte was the plaintiff included three suspects, but none of them have been charged. At the same time, a counter-report from Lundberg about assaulting Lamotte was also dropped due to lack of evidence.
