Foreign. An F/A-18 aircraft with two US Navy pilots on board was accidentally shot down by a US ship over the Red Sea on Sunday, The Guardian reports.

The pilots were rescued after ejecting from their damaged aircraft, but one of them suffered minor injuries.
The incident occurred as the US carried out airstrikes against Houthi rebels in Yemen.
The cruiser USS Gettysburg, part of the USS Harry S Truman Carrier Strike Group, “accidentally” shot down an F/A-18 aircraft, according to Centcom.
An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances.
“USS Gettysburg, part of the USS Harry S Truman Carrier Strike Group, accidentally fired and hit the F/A-18,” Centcom confirmed in a statement.
The Red Sea has become increasingly dangerous due to increased attacks from Houthi rebels.
The Iranian-backed rebels have targeted both commercial and military vessels, resulting in several incidents.
The pilots were from the “Red Rippers” from Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia.
The Houthis claim that their attacks are aimed at stopping Israel's war against Hamas in Gaza. The United States and several countries have intervened on Israel's side to stop the rebels' activities.
