Every third young Swede speculates in crypto

Economy. According to a new survey from Yougov and Nordnet, a full 28 percent of Swedes between the ages of 18 and 29 have invested in cryptocurrencies, reports Dagens Industri.

Interest in cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin has increased significantly in recent months, partly thanks to hopes of a more favorable regulatory framework in the US under Donald Trump's potential presidency.

Among all Swedes, regardless of age, 7 percent state that they own cryptocurrencies, according to a separate survey by EY and K33 Research.

There is also a clear gender difference in investments, with 18 percent of men and 8 percent of women having invested in cryptocurrencies, according to Yougov's study.

At the same time, new regulation, the Mica regulation, is being discussed within the EU, which aims to strengthen consumer protection and the legitimacy of crypto assets.

Frida Bratt believes that this can contribute to increased confidence in the sector.

The Yougov survey was conducted between December 10 and 13 with a total of 1,028 interviews.
