The recall applies to products manufactured from October 20 this year, including Granit Original Loose, Granit Original Portion – as well as several flavors from the Lundgrens series, including Skåne, Västkusten, Österlen and Aftonglöd.

The company urges consumers who purchased snus within the affected manufacturing dates to stop using the products.

Bens(a)pyrene, a substance classified as carcinogenic by the WHO, has been found in levels that exceed the limit value. The substance belongs to a group of compounds that are formed during the incomplete combustion of organic materials and also occurs in food, air pollution and tobacco products.

This is the second time in a short time that British American Tobacco Sweden has recalled snus due to excessive levels of benzo(a)pyrene. As recently as December 12, Granit Original White Portion Large was withdrawn from the market for the same reason.
