Media. The left-wing newspaper ETC's revelation that Sweden has allowed the establishment of an armed Jewish militia force in Stockholm had not been noticed by a single traditional media outlet in Sweden late on Wednesday, Fria Tider's survey shows.

It was on Tuesday morning that ETC published a startling revelation about how the Police Authority and the County Administrative Board in Stockholm had given the Jewish community's militia group JSS the right to arm itself with Glock 17 and Glock 19 to create a 30-man private corps that will protect Jewish interests in the capital.
According to the revelation, at least six people had been recruited to the operation directly from Israel, despite the fact that the rules for granting guards the right to carry firearms actually stipulate that one must be able to speak Swedish and have a Swedish education in order to obtain this type of permit.
The news that Sweden, with unclear legal support, has allowed the establishment of a Jewish militia group in Stockholm was not of interest to other Swedish media, however.
A search in the Media Archive and Google News services on Wednesday evening showed that none of the news sources listed in the services had noticed ETC's revelation, even though two working days had passed since its publication.
The fact that the media considered the news uninteresting has raised questions, not least considering that this is the first time that private bodyguards in Sweden have been allowed to form a corps that carries firearms. Previously, similar permits have in principle only been granted temporarily to foreign security services during state visits and to security personnel of certain airlines.
The sources included in the services include the news agency TT as well as public service and all newspapers, radio channels and television channels throughout Sweden.
On X, several people expressed that it was brave of ETC to publish the revelation, despite the great supposed resistance from Jews.
At the same time, the newspaper received harsh criticism from Jewish activists who warned that Swedes cannot handle the information in the revelation.
“Have you discussed before publication what opinions will be turned against Jews in Sweden?” asked Nathalie Rothschild, a former producer at the consequence-neutral Swedish Radio, in a post addressed to ETC's editor-in-chief Andreas Gustavsson.
In a response to his critics, Gustavsson states that his newspaper would have asked the same questions even if it concerned “any other congregation/group that has been granted a fast track to create an armed unit on Swedish soil, with an influx of foreign citizens, and also exempted from requirements for language, protection and weapons training”.
