Law & Justice. The hunter who shot two Shetland ponies in a pasture in Nykvarn in October will avoid legal consequences. The prosecutor has decided to close the preliminary investigation, reports Jaktjournalen.

The decision is motivated by the fact that it is not possible to prove that a crime has been committed.
The incident, which has aroused strong reactions, occurred when the hunter mistook the ponies Charisma and Bubbe for wild boars. According to the hunter, the ponies moved in a way that resembled wild boars, which would have led to the tragic mistake.
The hunter was initially suspected of several crimes – including hunting crimes, animal cruelty and causing danger to others. But the prosecutor found that there was insufficient evidence to press charges.
