The National Board of Health and Welfare is demanding over 10 million kroner from Botkyrka municipality after state grants to counter gang recruitment were used incorrectly. has also been used to equip a camp yard and for Christmas lighting in Fittja. A PR campaign that was never put into use cost SEK 600,000.
The National Board of Health and Welfare believes that several projects, such as an online education for four million, should have been financed by the municipality. There are also suspicions that some accounting documents have been constructed after the fact.
General director Björn Eriksson warns in a press release that the abuse hits young people hard in “vulnerable areas”.
The municipality has until January to meet the requirement.
