Foreign. The US accusations against Iran are becoming increasingly fanciful. The Pentagon is now strongly denying a congressman's claims that Iran has placed a “mothership” off the US east coast that launches drones.

Mysterious drone sightings in New Jersey have recently caused concern among residents.

Jeff Van Drew, Republican member of the House of Representatives, has simultaneously raised uproar by claiming that an Iranian craft – a “mother ship” – would have sent the drones out in the direction of American soil.

The politician made the claim in an interview with Fox News, citing “high-ranking sources” as the basis for his statements.

– Iran launched a mother ship about a month ago that contains these drones. That mother ship is stationed off the east coast, and they've sent drones against everything we can see and hear, Van Drew said.

He continued:

– I repeat, this is coming from high places sources. I do not say this lightly.

Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh, however, strongly refuted the claim during a press conference:

– There is no Iranian vessel off the coast of the United States, and there is nothing called mothership sending drones at US, Singh said.

She further emphasized that there is no evidence to suggest that the drones are connected to a hostile actor or an outside country.

The Ministry of Defense has imposed flight restrictions for drone traffic in the region, while the investigation into the events continues.
