Media. The far-left magazine Brand loses its cultural support from the Cultural Council after just over ten years. This is reported by the left-wing newspaper Dagens ETC, which states that this is happening after an “extreme right-wing drive” against the publication.

The announcement comes after the Sweden Democrats' cultural policy spokesperson Alexander Christiansson questioned the support, among other things with reference to the newspaper's close links to the far-left terrorist group AFA.
According to the Cultural Council, the newspaper has not lived up to the quality criteria for analysis, review and objectivity. The newspaper's responsible publisher, AFA founder Mathias Wåg, however, dismisses the criticism and instead points out that a previous themed issue about AFA may have influenced the decision.
– It's probably a rewrite because we did a themed issue with AFA. I find it difficult to see it in any other way, says Wåg.
Brand has also reported on the demonstrations at universities against Israel – a state that is particularly close to Alexander Christiansson's heart.
Despite the loss of SEK 200,000 in grants, Brand looks set to continue its operations, albeit in a stricter form.
