Aftonbladet: “Embarrassing” that Åkesson is boycotting the Nobel festival

Domestic. SD leader Jimmie Åkesson refused to participate in the Nobel party – even though he was eventually invited. This arouses strong reactions from Aftonbladet's lead writer Jonna Sima.

Until last year, the Nobel Foundation excluded Jimmie Åkesson from the Nobel Festival – citing that he does not believe in “everyone's equal value”.

But ahead of last year's festivities, an invitation came for the first time to the SD leader. He refused: “Unfortunately busy.”

This year Åkesson did not appear in the Blå hall during the Nobel banquet, which was held on Tuesday evening either.

This makes Aftonbladet's Jonna Sima see red.

“That Jimmie Åkesson nods tonight's big party speaks for itself. It is childish behavior that shows that he puts his own prestige before Sweden's reputation”, she writes.

According to Jonna Sima, it is a “black painting of today's Sweden”.

“The Swedish right has for decades black painted 'DDR-Sweden', despite the fact that our model built one of the world's best – and richest – societies. It's both sad and fact-resistant,” she writes.

Jonna Sima also takes the opportunity to give Åkesson the boot by referring to the scandal surrounding his wedding party with an invited MC gang leader.

“But if Jimmie Åkesson wants to sulk tonight, he can. Considering his own parties, he seems to prefer company in MC vests to scientists who change the world.”
