Domestic. The scenes from Stockholm with thousands of Syrians celebrating al-Qaeda's conquest of Syria are disgusting. On social media, there are many who demand that the Syrians be immediately sent home to their “liberated” homeland.
“A good opportunity to go home”, observes Jimmie Åkesson (SD).

Sergel's square in Stockholm was filled on Sunday with Syrians who celebrated the overthrow of the secular president Bashar al-Assad from power by jihadists linked to the Muslim the terrorist organization al-Qaeda.
According to SVT Nyheter, there were real scenes of joy – there were speeches, cheering and waving of flags.
Hundreds of thousands of Syrians came to Sweden in connection with the asylum chaos in 2015, which was also triggered by battles between Assad and Western and Israeli-backed jihadists . They were granted permanent residence permits, and many have declared themselves at risk of persecution by the now overthrown regime.
Thus, it is high time to go home again, many Swedes believe. On social media, there are many who express this view, and many posts have been widely circulated.
Excellent, now Mahmood and all other Syrians who claimed to have fled Assad can return to their homeland. Because surely they were real refugees…? pic.twitter.com/tq9A8BH9UJ

Yes, but so good! Now Syrians will gather at Gustav Adolfs Torg in Gothenburg to celebrate that Assad is gone. Excellent! Then you can pack up and go home again.

What happy news!
I assume that the Swedish Migration Agency reviews all residence permits issued to them.
Now we must ensure that these people are allowed to return and rebuild their beloved Syria, every single one. pic.twitter.com/RMgKFCmjt1

Deeply sick scenes from Sergels Torg tonight.< br>Those who did this to Sweden must be brought to justice and never again experience anything other than the purifying nature of penal servitude.
These are thousands of people who will be brought to justice by Nürnbergtyp.pic.twitter.com/PVyBwhIg5q

SD leader Jimmie Åkesson writes on X that groups that are happy about the events in Syria should “see this as a good opportunity to go home” .
“New situations also require new assessments. Therefore, it is important that the residence permits are reconsidered for the individuals who have chosen to move from Syria to Sweden. I will also raise the issue of tightened ID checks with the government to strengthen the Swedish border in case of a potential wave of refugees,” he continues.
