The Green Party has recently announced that they want to become less “woke” and focus more on traditional politics.
A similar trend towards less cultural Marxism is also seen in the new party program that the Social Democrats are now developing.
This has received criticism from several former party leaders, including Gudrun Schyman and Mona Sahlin, who believe that the parties are betraying important values.
– I am very disappointed that the Green Party and the Social Democrats are expressing themselves in this way instead of fighting for knowledge and popular education, says Gudrun Schyman in SVT's Politikbyrån.
Mona Sahlin criticizes the parties for adapting to political trends.
– It's a bit of a message of poverty. Politics may also have to try to change public opinion, she says.
According to the Social Democrats' integration boss Lawen Redar, the change in the party program means that the party is returning to its roots.
– We are going back to our roots and charting the future, there is very little wokeness and a lot of materialism, she tells Göteborgs-Posten.
