It is about an update of the propaganda booklet from the Second World War, which has now been given the slightly longer name “If the crisis or the war is coming” and which this time will include the households on the notes regarding an upcoming war with Russia.
It is the fifth version of the booklet since World War II.
The front of the pamphlet shows a fit female soldier posing straight-backed with an AK5. Behind her is a significantly less well-built man sitting and reading fairy tales to two children.
The children have different skin colors.
– The new brochure sends an important message that we need to have a preparedness to be able to defend our open society and our democracy, says Christina Andersson, propaganda officer at MSB, in a press release.
At the same time, the pamphlet is criticized in social media, where it is, among other things, dismissed as out of touch with reality and PK.
