In a video that is spreading on social media, the party's group leader Camilla Johansson calls out her support for the food trucks:
– Yalla yalla Uddewallah! We want to hear the shouts! More falafel and kebab for everyone!
The campaign is an attempt to create opinion against the controversial decision, writes Samnytt. The center believes that the food trucks contribute to the city's food culture and that they should be allowed to remain, despite criticism from restaurants about unfair competition.
The decision to end the project was taken by the political majority in Uddevalla, which consists of the Sweden Democrats, the Moderates, The Christian Democrats and the Uddevalla Party. The center party voted against the decision in the community planning committee and now hopes to win support from the residents through its campaign.
