It was on Wednesday that the news came that SD drops the requirement that employees in care, school and social services report illegal immigrants.
This means that illegal immigrants will be able to live on social benefits and in practice receive free healthcare and dental care in Sweden.
Wednesday's news has caused a storm on social media among SD – voters, who are becoming increasingly critical of the Tidö government.
The Liberals' party leader Johan Pehrson describes the outcome as “a victory”, and the V leader Nooshi Dadgostar describes it as “SD's biggest loss ever”.
But Ludvig Aspling, who is responsible for pushing through SD's immigration policy, does not agree with that analysis.
– Neither Nooshi nor Johan Pehrson has any more in-depth understanding for immigration law and which proposals will have the most practical effect, he says in an interview with SD's Youtube channel Riks.
It “would have been good” to have the duty of information, according to Aspling, but according to him it was not what was the important thing.
– What will have the greatest effect is above all the police parts of this report.
If the SD has received something in exchange for the suspended duty of information, Ludvig Aspling wants do not respond to.
