Party leader Marine Le Pen has after a meeting with Barnier on Monday clearly marked his opposition to the budget.
– My opinion has not changed, nor does it appear that the Prime Minister has changed, says Le Pen according to the AFP news agency.
The government warns that France risks ending up in a severe economic crisis similar to the one Greece experienced during the financial crisis 15 years ago if the budget is not passed.
Although the government should be convicted, no new election can be held until the summer of 2025 at the earliest, which deepens the political deadlock in the country.
