Domestic. Despite being processed by propaganda for decades, a quarter of Swedes are still unsure whether human activity really causes climate change. This is shown by a survey from the SOM Institute at the University of Gothenburg.

Eight percent of the respondents believe that the research is wrong, while 19 percent are doubtful, writes SVT Nyheter.
The survey was conducted between September and December 2023 and shows that 73 percent of Swedes believe that climate change is mainly caused by human activity.
The results cause concern among the TV experts.
– The climate crisis is the biggest social and economic threat humanity has faced. It is very important that people understand that it is real and that we need to take measures, says Mikael Karlsson, docent in environmental science at Uppsala University, to SVT Nyheter.
Åsa Wikforss, professor of theoretical philosophy, points to a “poisoned information landscape” as an explanation for the fact that many people are skeptical of climate research and experts.
– The coal and oil industry has long sown doubts about climate science. That makes it more difficult to push through political decisions, she says.
