This gives rise to a very large number of angry comments from right-wing users who believe that it must be enough now with the unconditional support for the Israeli regime.

It is in a post on the platform X that Jimmie Åkesson comments on the ICC's decision to issue an arrest warrant against Benjamin Netanyahu for, among other things, crimes against humanity.

“It is an incomprehensible decision in a situation where Israel is waging an existential defensive war against a bloodstained one terrorist organisation”, writes the SD leader.

He also attacks his colleagues in the government – who have given their support to the ICC's decision – for not being pro-Israel enough.

“It is regrettable that Sweden's foreign minister and government are unable to take a clearer position,” writes Jimmie Åkesson.

The post has received a large number of negative comments – and most of them actually come from users on the right who now call on SD to stop supporting everything Israel does and instead focus on what is good for Sweden.< /p>

The background to the ICC arrest warrant is allegations of war crimes and crimes against humanity in connection with the conflict between Israel and Hamas. The ICC accuses Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant of being responsible for, among other things, the use of starvation as a weapon and the killing of civilians in Gaza. Similar accusations have been leveled at Hamas leader Mohammed Deif.

The Swedish government has so far been restrained in its statements about the arrest warrant, while SD has shown support for Israel that in practice seems to have no limits.
