A little over eight years after Ali Reza was last seen alive, human remains have now been found that have proven to be his. A skeletal part has been found in an outdoor area south of Stensjön in Mölndal.

It was mushroom pickers who made the discovery at the beginning of October. The skeletal part was completely visible in the terrain.

– The discovery site is in an area that was of interest during the investigation of the murder of Ali Reza. Therefore, we immediately requested a comparative analysis, which we have now received, says Sofie Konkell, head of preliminary investigations at the serious crime section in Greater Gothenburg.

– It feels very good that we were finally able to give this information to relatives. I also hope that we will find the remaining remains so that they can have an end after eight years of uncertainty.

During the very extensive homicide investigation, great efforts were made to find the body that had been disposed of after the murder. The police were on several occasions in the area in question and searched. Among other things, in the terrain and on fire pits. Diving in waterways was also carried out.
