Shooting in Kungens kurva – 14-year-old arrested

Domestic. A 14-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of having shot a restaurant employee with several shots in the Kungens Kurva shopping center south of Stockholm. Another shooting took place shortly afterwards near the site.

A 55-year-old man was shot in the middle of the lunch rush at a restaurant in the shopping center Kungens kurva , south of Stockholm, during Monday. He was taken by ambulance helicopter to the hospital and the incident is being investigated as attempted murder.

The police were alerted to the shooting at 11:39 a.m. and carried out an extensive operation with both a police helicopter and witness interviews. Daniel Wikdahl, press spokesperson at the Stockholm Police, tells Expressen that the shooting took place in a restaurant connected to a grocery store. The man who was shot is employed at the restaurant.

About an hour later, the police were alerted to another shooting, this time at an industrial area about five kilometers from Kungens kurva. It is still unclear exactly what happened there, but the incident is being investigated as aggravated weapons offense and unlawful threats.

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of both incidents, according to information to Expressen. The boy is said to have been on the run from a location in southern Sweden.

The police are investigating whether the crime is connected to organized crime, but cannot confirm a motive at the moment.

Several witnesses were at location of the shooting in the King's Curve, and the police are working to secure footage from surveillance cameras. The incident is one of several shootings that took place in or near shopping centers in Sweden during the autumn, which arouses concern among the public.
