The development comes after the attention-grabbing case where a female prosecutor chose not to seek deportation for two men who raped a minor girl in a forest in Frölunda.
– It is very offensive when people who are not Swedish citizens commit crimes in Sweden and yet are not deported, says Johan Forssell to GP.
He sees this as a ” system error” when people who are not Swedish citizens commit crimes in Sweden and are still not deported.
A previous investigation showed that only four percent of convicted non-citizens are deported.
The government now wants to lower the threshold for what counts as connection to Sweden according to international law, as well as scrapping special rules for people who immigrated before the age of 15.
