The Swedish academic Anna Wieslander is head of Northern Europe at the neoconservative American think tank Atlantic Council and has co-signed a letter in which 100 international experts warn of peace.
– We draw a parallel to the Munich Agreement with Adolf Hitler, where he received parts of Czechoslovakia. After that, Chamberlain went back to the British and said that now I have saved Britain from a big war, and a year later the Second World War broke out, she tells the radio's Studio Ett.
Wieslander claims that it would be dangerous to make some concessions to Russia because the country will then proceed with new wars in Europe.
The Swedish academic is also critical of Donald Trump's statements during a meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyi in September, where he omitted that Hitler- stamp Putin to an adequate extent.
– There are very good relations between us and Zelenskyi, Trump said during the meeting. Then he quickly added, while Zelenskyj stood by:
– But we also have, as you know, very good relations with President Putin. And in war, it takes two to tango.
Anna Wieslander believes that the EU and the US should give Ukraine the right to use US-made long-range robots to attack targets deep inside Russia, despite Vladimir Putin's declaration that it means that Russia is at war with the EU countries and the USA.
Any expert who had a different opinion on the matter was not allowed to be in Studio Ett.
