Domestic. Parts of the Swedish football movement are now working “feverishly” to find a replacement for Fredrik Reinfeldt, whose mandate as chairman of the Swedish Football Association (SvFF) expires this spring. This is reported by Fotbollskanalen.

According to information given to Fotbollskanalen, Simon Åström, current second vice-chairman of the SvFF board and chairman of Swedish Elite Soccer (Sef), is a of the main candidates.
Hammarby has pushed the issue and highlighted Åström as a suitable successor.
Many clubs in the Allsvenskan and Superettan, as well as several district associations, have expressed strong dissatisfaction with Reinfeldt and want to see a change.
At a member meeting within Sef recently, Hammarby brought up Åström's name, which according to the Football Channel was met with both support and some resistance. The issue was discussed further, as some clubs believe it would be more beneficial if Åström continued with his current work.

More talks are planned and Hammarby hopes for support from more Sef clubs to push Åström's candidacy. If Åström declines to run, there are also other alternatives, among them Anders Billström and Lars-Christer Olsson, who, however, previously expressed that he is not interested in the assignment.
No later than November 15, candidates for re-election in SvFF – the board announces its intention to continue, which means that Reinfeldt's announcement is expected shortly.
