The statement came during an interview in SVT's program “30 minutes”.
– I will not sit in a government with Jimmie Åkesson, says Pehrson firmly in the program.
SD, for its part, demands to be part of a possible right-wing government after the next election. Party leader Jimmie Åkesson has previously emphasized that the role of mere support party is no longer sufficient.
– In that case, you have to form a government in some other way, Pehrson explained in response to what would happen if SD's demands remains.
Pehrson stressed that the cooperation with the other Tidö parties – the Moderates and the Christian Democrats – works well, but stressed that the Liberals and SD have fundamentally different political backgrounds and opinions.
– We have completely different background, we have completely different approaches in politics and have been formed for completely different reasons, he said.
Pehrson also made it clear that the Liberals' position on the issue is fixed and will not change.
– I don't see that happening, he says.
