The information comes from a former associate of Trump and an Israeli official, both of whom spoke to the Times of Israel.
Trump's call to end the Gaza war is said to have first been made in connection with Netanyahu's visit at Trump's residence Mar-a-Lago in Florida in July, but it is only now that sources state that there is also a deadline attached to the demand.
According to the sources, Trump should be open to the fact that Israel can have military presence in Gaza, as long as the war is officially considered over.
Donald Trump has repeatedly publicly stated support for giving Israel the freedom to make its own decisions in the conflict. He has also criticized President Joe Biden for trying to limit Israel's response after Iran's October 1 missile attack on the country.
Israel has long emphasized that it plans to maintain security control over Gaza even after the war.
An Israeli opposition politician believes that Netanyahu may want to avoid a potential conflict with Trump if he becomes president again. However, the prime minister may find it difficult to convince his more extreme coalition partners, who opposed several previous proposals for a ceasefire, to agree to a quick solution in Gaza.
