In a debate on SVT: s “Currently” with the Green Party's migration policy spokesperson Annika Hirvonen, Forssell argued that freedom of speech should not apply to those who support terrorism.
– Here we must be crystal clear that we have a great freedom of speech here in Sweden but when applies precisely to paying tribute to terrorist groups, we can never see between the fingers there. Those people should not be in Sweden. Therefore, we want to change the law to be able to deport them, he said.
Annika Hirvonen agrees that glorification of terrorist organizations is unacceptable, but wants to see that the law is applied equally to everyone, regardless of citizenship.
– I think that freedom of expression must apply equally to everyone who is here. It must apply to Swedish citizens, refugees or those who have a residence permit in Sweden. What you think is completely unacceptable should be banned – equally for everyone, she says.
Forssell emphasizes that the proposal is primarily aimed at people with temporary residence permits who strive for citizenship, while Annika Hirvonen believes that the law should be equal for everyone, including tourists and Swedish citizens.
