Snuff cheaper – cigarettes more expensive

At the same time, the tax on cigarettes is increased by nine percent, which, according to the government, reflects the health-threatening differences between the products.

Markus Lindblad, communications manager at Snusbolaget.se, sees the reduction positively and hopes that it will lead to more people choosing snus over cigarettes to quit smoking.

The tobacco-free alternatives, such as white snus, are not covered by the tax cut.
