Domestic. From today, the tax on snus will be reduced by around 20 percent, which means that a stick of snus will be up to SEK 55 cheaper. At the same time, the tax on cigarettes is increased by nine percent, which, according to the government, reflects the health-threatening differences between the products.

Markus Lindblad, communications manager at Snusbolaget.se, sees the reduction positively and hopes that it will lead to more people choosing snus over cigarettes to quit smoking.
– The method most people use to stop smoking is snuff, he tells TT.
However, the price change for snuff is not guaranteed, as each supplier sets their own prices .
The tobacco-free alternatives, such as white snus, are not covered by the tax cut.
