Media. The US Embassy in Hungary has once again decided to fund left-liberal media in the country, reports Remix News.

This is the third such called the “Free Media” initiative on the part of the embassy. This investment, which this year includes 160 million forints (equivalent to five million kroner), is said to be aimed at media development and training to “promote press freedom” in Hungary.
During the past year, several Hungarian left-wing media outlets have received American support, including the new opposition platform Kontroll, which is close to Péter Magyar, one of Hungary's opposition leaders. Other media such as Telex and 444 have also previously received support. The funds are used for technical development, journalist training and media education programs for so-called vulnerable groups such as the elderly, children and Roma.
The Mérték media analysis center and the Ökotárs movement – both of which were funded by George Soros' Open Society foundation and the former also received by money by the suspected CIA front “National Endowment for Democracy” – is involved in the selection of grantees. The US ambassador David Pressman is responsible for the final decision on the distribution of the aid.
The Hungarian newspaper Magyar Nemzet criticizes the rain of US contributions and questions whether a foreign ambassador should really influence the internal political climate in Hungary:< /p>
