According to the survey, there are a total of 34, 2 percent of men aged 18–29 who would vote for SD if there were elections today.
Left-wing academic Tobias Hübinette, who founded the far-left Expo, notes on his blog that the corresponding figure for ethnically Swedish young men is even higher – around 45 percent.
“However, SD is still the young men's obvious first choice and in light of the fact that over a third of all inhabitants of the country who are 18-29 years old have a non-European background and from sub-Saharan Africa and the MENA region, this means that up to 45% of the majority Swedish young men would have voted for SD if there had been an election today. Far fewer voters with a non-European background still vote for SD compared to the majority Swedish voters,” he writes.
According to the Novus survey, support for parties such as the Moderates and the Liberals has decreased significantly in the group of young men. The latter party's support is only 1.7 percent.
Among upper secondary school students (13–15 years old), SD became the largest party in the last school election this spring, with 32.65 percent of the vote, which indicates continued strong support in the younger age group. Due to a higher proportion of students with a non-European background and a tendency among young girls to vote for S, MP and V, support for SD among ethnically Swedish boys in this age group can be as high as 50 percent, according to Tobias Hübinette.
