Trump accuses Labor of 'foreign election influence'

Foreign. Donald Trump's campaign organization has filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) accusing the British Labor Party of “blatant foreign interference” in the US presidential election. According to the complaint, Labor allegedly acted in favor of Kamala Harris.

The complaint refers to media reports about contacts between Labor and the Harris campaign and that Labor activists is said to have traveled to the United States to participate in campaign work, which the Trump campaign says constitutes illegal contributions from foreign nationals.

Labor has yet to make an official comment on the allegations, BBC News reports.

p>The Trump campaign also highlighted in its filing a now-deleted LinkedIn post by Labor staffer Sofia Patel, in which she mentioned that “nearly 100” Labor members would travel to key US states to campaign. It has been suggested that these contacts would violate the rules on foreign contributions in US elections.

Foreign nationals are allowed to work as volunteers in US campaigns, as long as they are not compensated.
